oil burning problem
ok my honda like all hondas with upwards 100,xxx burns oil but ive never had one burn so much no leaks from pan or valve cover. it is all burn off how can i determine where the oil is entering the combustion chamber from ??? im thinking rings or valve guides!! but which would it more likely be... i know a valve adjustment is due it ticks a lil when cold so ill do that monday and see what else i can figure out please help
understandable, but if like you said there are no visible leaks, only thing I could think of would be the valve stem seals. if the rings were blown, i'd think you'd be blowing a bunch of white smoke out the tail pipe and would have the smell of gas in your oil.
95% of the time you have worn oil control rings, you can replace valve stem seals to see if that may fix the problem..But you might as well do a whole engine rebuild....You can do a leak down to see how bad your compression rings are worn but it wont tell you how bad your oil rings are....time for a motor swap...
