Accord shakes when accelerated
Just bought a 94 Accord 80k. 5 spd. I just noticed that when I accelerate it seems to shake. But when I decelerate it stops. No CEL on. Tires are brand new. It only seems to shake when I give it gas.
Check the motor mounts if that doesnt turn anything up. But I second TheMuffinMan's sugestions too.
Wouldnt that normally make it shake some when slowing down also though TheMuffinMan? Thats what made me think of mounts.

Damn that very low mileage you got there..I got 300 000 kim on mine and it shake when i accelerate..
My point of mentioning if it didn't happen before the new tires it's probably either the mount/balance or even could be bad tires (the cords are messed up)
The motor mounts definitely are another possibility too - it's possible that the old tires were worn to a point the vibration wasn't noticed haha. Easiest way to check that is pop the hood and have a friend rev the motor up while you look. If there's a silly amount of flex in the mount then you'll want to replace.
Hope it's not the rear one though, that's a bitch to change.

I was thinking motor mounts.
I pulled the spark plug wires and noticed one was drenched in oil. Could this be it? Making the enigine struggle when accelerating? IDK.

I had a Similar problem to as what you said, but mine was because my driver side lug nuts weren't properly torqued. It mad noise and was shakin but when I braked it went away. So check to see if they properly torqued the lug nut also
Yeah, it most likely would. If it's just braking it's generally warped rotors. It is possible that it's just not noticed while braking.

I have the opposite vibration mine vibrates all the time ecept in drive, probably the rear motor mount with my luck. i did notice i was missing bolts in the front one and put some bolts back in it, but that didnt change it at all.
oh well just how hard is the rear motor mount to replace?
