B18c OBD 1 or 2 ?
I recently bought a B18c1 fro ma guy and i thought he said it was out of a 94 teggy. But i noticed that the Dizzy is the big fat OBD2 model. But it also looks like it could have been swapped onto it. What else can I use on the engine to tell me if its the 94-95 OBD1 or the later OBD 2 ??
You can run that engine either obdI or II with your current setup, so it shouldn't matter. Sounds like you have the obdII dizzy, but internally it's the same as the obdI version, just uses 1 larger plug with the same wires, instead if two smaller plugs.
As far as age ID, just look at the cylinder head stampings......

Ok so its a 96 which would mean its a OBD2, but i want to run it as OBD 1 in my 90 STD civic. SO what am i gonna have to do to make it work. OBD 1 Dizzy? what else will i have to change/not wire/wire?
I did this upgrade with an obdI distributor because that is what i had. It ws easy and ony took a few mins....here's a pic you can kind of see the newer style plug on my original harness
sweet that makes sense, so there is nothing else i will have to convert? Also i did not get a wiring harness with my GSR soo can i pick up a harness from any B18 ( a, b ,or c) and just add the vtec plug, or do i need to get a B18C harness because of the weird *** manifold and dual runner nonsense. Or one more option to solve the manifold problem and go ahead and buy a skink2, edelbrock etc... Thanx for the help

You can use the stock manifold with the dual runners.
Obviously you won't be running an OBD2 ECU so that is a slight problem.
The OBD2 IAB triggers of a positive voltage rather than ground as OBD1 does.
You can chip and mod a bunch of different OBD1 ECUs to control the OBD2 IAB as well as vtec.
I just happen to have an OBD1 PR3 that's chipped and modded for this. (It's for sale too
