What is the difference of OBD0 OBD1 OBD2 or whatever it is called???

Default What is the difference of OBD0 OBD1 OBD2 or whatever it is called???

Im new to hondas being that my previous car was a nissan. Im trying to figure out what OBD is and what it stands for and how to tell the difference of the three and how to convert them and all of that stuff that has to do with engine swaps. Please help me!

OBD stands for on board diagnostics. the difference between obd I and obd II is just the amount of **** on the car that is controlled by the computer. Older cars are OBD I and the newer cars are OBD II. There are a lot more sensors on an OBD II.

so i have a 1998 civ dx and it would be obdb right? how hard is this to change on a b16a or b , b18c , h22a , or even a k20a over to my cars standards???

obd0 - 88-91
obd1- 92-95
obd2a - 96-99
obd2b - 00+

Accords started as obd0 89 and older
90-some 95's were obd1 and
96 newer obdII

Nissan is no different it was a government regulation to have ALL vehicles obdII by 1997.

so how would you change a OBDa to a OBD1 or 2. rewire it all??? or can you buy conversions??

ya you can buy conversion wires, peopole only really do it becuase the obd2 systems arent nearly as supported as obd1 systems becuase the fact is you can tune the obd1 ecu's, with crome and uber data, an obd0 is turboedit software


all free, comparable to the AEM standalone kinda, more like a free version of hondata

its cool, keep in mind its not smog legal to swap between the on board diag systems


well swap down anyways

actually 96-98 is OBD2a
Obd2b starts in 99
