Default Air-Flow Meter wiring help.

i got a air flow meter inside the car when i bought it.(installed already). But the 02 Sensor was out so i thought that was making it read all retartedly. so i replaced the 02 sensor and now it is Jumping weird.... when i take off it goes 100% leen where i dont see it on the meter no more and when i idle it goes up to ummmmm what ever the middle one is called stays there for about 3 sec and drops 100%leen again and then back up to the middle..... thinking who did it did it all wrong...... so was wondering if some one can send me a pic or something of how it should look to the ECu or something.

what you meant to say was air/fuel gauge. the middle part of the gauge is stoich.

the reason why it's jumping around all retarded is because it's a narrowband gauge. the gauge simply displays what the stock o2 is capable of registering; lean or rich scenarios. think of it as an either on or off switch with no inbetween. the bottom line is it's pretty much useless for anything besides a light show.

if you want to accurately read your air/fuel gauge you will need to pick up a wideband air/fuel gauge. a cheap one people commonly go with is from aem
