Default Intake Question

I have a 99 honda civic si AEM intake right now.

If I go back to the original OEM intake do I have to change
the whole intake manifold also?

Or can I just change the short ram intake?

just change the short ram intake. it will slide right on and mount up correctly
as long as its the correct intake for that motor.

thats not exactly a cold air piping, its suppose to quiet the vacuum like sound when the intake sucks air in, a number of people remove them to lessen restriction

No it's not needed to pass smog. But if you have an AEM SRI you should be able to pass smog with that as well, if the carb stickers is still on that is.
