I did the head on my car and it started acouple days ago but ran like ****. I have everything hooked up and set like it was when it came off my car.car will not start now checked today and im getting spark and i know im getting fuel. its turning over but will not start now. i didnt know if it might be mytiming or what. im getting irratated and dont want to because i like this car and if i get fed up ill beat the **** out of it. so im trying to stay away from that.anybody have an idea?

 

Is your cam(s) aligned properly to TDC with the crank?

 

someone told me its ouuta timing. so i guess i get to pull off the timing belt and try to time it tommorrow

 

Make sure you've got it Top Dead Center, then make sure your dizzy is not 180 out. Hopefully you marked it.

 

how do I find out if the dizzy is 180 out? as for the top dead center my crank shaft pulley should have a mark right?

 

if your car has already fired up, even if running terrible, i'm pretty sure your dizzy isn't 180 degrees off. i'd put money on it that your timing is off.

however if you want to try just to make sure, unbolt your dizzy, and turn the part that goes into camshaft 180 degrees, then bolt it back on.

as for your other question, yes there are marks on both the crank pully and cam gear so you can set the engine to TDC.

put the block at tdc and the cam on #1 cylinder on the heal of the lobe then check to make sure the rotor is pointin to the #1 spark plug wire before tryin next time if one dont match up then that is most likely it
also make sure the valve adj is right with throw it off as well
