Default B16 ECU Used For A D15

Correct me if im wrong but I believe its a p28??? Anyways I was just wondering today that with this ECU in my car and I dont have a B series motor. Would it affect the way the car runs whether good or bad???

Although its a D15 almost pretty much stock im sure it can perform better than its doing right now. Im thinking it can be the ECU probably but im no one to judge that.

Note: Nothing is wrong with the car that I know of...I just feel it can perform a little better so im a little concern.

no a p28 ecu is a stock 92-95 civic ex single cam vtec ecu i believe. p30 would be the b16a3 ecu from the doch vtec delsol motor. if you are just running a single came vtec do not use the b16 ecu.

Sounds like you should be using a P06.

The P28 and P30 will do more harm than good on a non-VTEC D15, including bogging, poor fuel economy, and possible check engine lights.

also you could probably sell that p30 for a good price, they are pretty rare as the obd1 vtec trim del sols are hard to come by. but its really the only obd1 b16 ecu around so people doing swaps will be all over it.

Yes the car does bogg every now and then...I will look into it further and possibly get a p06 if that what is really required to run properly. I do have a CEL but I know that is just because the car isnt Vtec and im missing an 02 sensor

If you're missing an O2 sensor, that would be a big reason for bogging. It would be a bigger reason than running a P30. I'm guessing you have a OBD1 car that only requires one O2 sensor. The primary one. The one in charge of fuel trim.

Buy a O2 sensor.
