my rebuild problems...
so i blew my engine a few months ago. it was a 88 ZC engine that was actually stamped ZC.i slung metal chunks out of my oil pan, leaving a nice gaping hole. So i look around and decided that since i cant find a ZC coded engine that i should just find a D16a1 from a 88 integra and i could just plug it all up and i would be fine. boy was i wrong. im going through all this crap, i have two long blocks sitting next to each other, and im noticing one- the head is different, the valve covers dont even match, the bolts are in the wrong spot. continuing on i wasnt too worried about the mounts, but i am seeing those are going to be a pain.
in the end, i decided it would be easier to transplant the internals over to my zc block and replace the oil pan. im sending the block over to be refinished.
when it comes back, hopefully i can update you guys...
if i had known it would be this much of a pain in the *** i would have just went B16.
