It is technically called a header.

I would get that checked out. On your year of Accord, the o2 sensor tells how much fuel to put in the cylinder. If it runs to lean it will be bad news. So either the previous owner unplugged the CEL light or rigged it up somehow.

Hows the mpg and running?

Your car should have 1 sensor before the catalytic converter. Look under the car and see if there is one there. If there is you are fine. Some aftermarket headers have a spot for two because on some models the O2 is higher up on the exhaust manifold so it gives you options on where to place it.

94-95 OBD1 Accords only have 1 O2 sensor and it is located on the bottom of the header pipe close to the catalytic converter. The 96-97 OBD2 Accords have 2 O2 sensors. One of them is up in the primary tube, as you are describing. And the other is behind the catalytic converter.

You have a 94, therefore you only have 1 O2 sensor and you do not need to use the upper O2 bung. You have to have at least 1 O2 sensor so as long as you have one before the cat somewhere your good.
