Default Advice on budget I/H/E combo for mild all motor engine

I've got a B18C1 GS-R with stock pistons, Blox A cams, GSR CAI and a WS2 exhaust. I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a fairly inexpensive TB/IM/Header combo that will perform well together with the parts that I already have installed. Here's what I've got so far:

B18C1 stock pistons with B18C1 head
Blox A cams
Blox dual valvesprings
AEM GSR CAI
Apexi WS2 catback
Stock GS-R header
Stock GS-R cat (to be replaced with high-flow)
Stock GS-R IM and TB
Fidanza <7 lb. flywheel w/ Exedy OEM clutch
Stock cam gears

I like the idea of parts that bolt up easily and I want a header that will work with a cat and not require me to remove/move the PS, AC, or stock radiator, or dent the oil pan.

As far as budget, let's say $1000 for the TB, IM, and header.

i know there is some one in miami with a bolt on gsr on e85 he broke 200 i believe.
id just look into a nice cold air RMF replica header and a 2 and a half inch exhaust and the supporting mods for E85

this is a video of him vs a "built" LSV coupe

RMF replica is one of the headers I've been considering, although there seems to be a bit of controversy about those recently.

ive seen some great numbers come from cars equipped with those headers, ive never personally dealt with that header but there really isnt another header in that price range that performs as well as that header.
edit: o and that gsr in the video posted above has an RMF replica

go with the Kiddracing rmf replica, im running one on my b18c and love it. it works well with my skunk 2 intake mani and 2.5" exhaust, also running ctr cams. Im going to continue to run this header after i fully build my motor, its worth every penny.

Has the Skunk2 been redesigned so that it comes in at the correct angle for B18C1 heads?

are you talking about skunk 2 intake mani's i assume? if so then no they havent redesigned it, it doesnt line up right to the gsr head, but you can always port match it with a dremel its tit.

Yeah, I was referring to IM's in that case, sorry. Are there any IM's that don't require port matching?

Yes the Skunk2 Pro Series IM is the correct design, now. Save your money for the TB just send your stock TB out and get it bored out to 64mm.
Keep in mind with the single runner IM you will need a new CAI. An ITR will bolt right up sell your old GSR CAI.
I would do the following in your situation.
Get the stock TB bored out to 64mm. $125
Skunk2 or Edelbrock Performer X IM $300-$400
Skunk2 Header $700, custom Test pipe to match up to you exhaust.
Sell the GSR CAI and get an ITR CAI add V-Stack to it.
Then Tune. A bit more that $1000

^^ that's helpful info, thanks a lot! That's pretty close to the setup I'd like to get. I've heard the Megapower is a really good header and I've definitely got my eye on it. The only thing I'm worried about is that it will be 'wasted' with my WS2 exhaust. How much will my exhaust flow suffer by going from strong header like a Megapower to a 2.38" or 2.5" cat and then a 2.38" chambered exhaust?

Oh, yeah, and I'm definitely getting a high flow cat and not a test pipe. And I'm definitely tuning but not adding that to the breather budget.

get a ITR header cheap and they have suported 200whp, get a skunk2 IM, hondata gasket, Magnaflow cat, and a AEM Short ram, i like aem best for intakes cause they dont heat soak, and slap a Bpi Vstack and K&N filter, im sure you could get all those parts searching around for under a grand

After you put a decent header on that motor, you're going to want to drop in bigger cams. It will thank you.

Yes; there are other factors in cam selection.

If the cylinder head is allowed to breath better, a stock short block will support most 'stage 2' cams, or larger. Blox As are not much bigger than ITR/CTR cams. BC3+ cams would certainly do well in that motor. And, he already has the springs.

I have even seen Pro1s do well in stock bottom end GSRs and ITRs with quality bolt-ons and a good tune.

I got these cams for a song, but couldn't afford to add adjustable cam gears at the time. If the engine can support better cams at 10:1, at some point I may sell these cams (maybe even for a profit), and get cam gears and more agressive cams...

If I get a high flow cat, would it be better to have 2.5" piping for the header, or 2.38" (or whatever) for the WS2?

you will need a cat with a 2.5 inlet and then to get someone to weld it to the exhuast sence its smaller, taperd peice of tube, muffler shop could do it for cheap

not sure why you wouldn't just run a hytech replica header? I see those on classifieds for $250 all the time.

The Hytech is a tri-Y design that makes it hard to install a catalytic converter because it extends into the area the cat is supposed to be. It also has sucky ground clearance. Right now I'm considering JDM ITR, RMF replica, and SK2 Megapower (if I'm feeling rich). For intakes I'm trying to decide between Blox, SK2 and PerformerX, and for cat I don't really know what to do. There are so many model #s it's sort of bewildering and none of the direct fit seem to be 2.5" piping.

From what I've seen and researched the Performer X and Pro-series are the best cast manifolds you can get for NA. I just ordered a Performer for 277 off thmotorsports.com
