Icon2 Parking, tail lights, dash lights not working 91 accord

I have read the other threads on this issue, they all seem to have a problem with the fuse blowing. Last night after stopping to get gas my parking, dash, and tail lights quit working. I checked all the fuses, replace the fuses mentioned in the other threads and they are not blowing when installed. My question is, will the light relay or the dimmer relay be the culprit to the lights not working? If not what should my next step be so that i am not replacing unneeded parts? thank you

theres probably a wire in your head unit grounding it out and blowing the fuses as soon as it turns on . make sure theres no bare wires and put a new fuse(s) in .

as stated in above post, the fuses are not blowing. i can take the fuse out of the light space and swap it to the radio space and the radio works. same with the fuse under the hood. niether of them are blowing the fuse

Since you said the fuse is okay, there is a red/green wire to check that is part of the circuit. If the wiring is okay, it may be the combination light switch, which is attached to the steering wheel.

I'll take it apart and test it.

I took all components of the lighting circuit over to my lil brothers house which has my old 91 accord, and tested them on that car. the dimmer control was good and the combination light switch was good. I tried his parts on my car and had no luck.

Alright, probably shouldnt have done this but gut instict said try to back feed power to the lighting circuit with every thing put back together. I took out a corner light and unplugged the light socket, using a fuse as a connector in the light socket, i ran a jumper to the positive on the battery. All the proper lights came on, dash lights and parking lights. So, that means i dont have a short in the circuit or the fuse would have blown, I must have an open connection somewhere. where to start, i am guessing under the dash.

If you have an aftermarket radio I'd start there.

It's also possible that your relay on your steering column is bad, which would require you to replace the stalk.

there is no relay on the steering column, the stalk you speak of is the light switch. It has been tested on another accord and is good. BUT......

Alright, by what the schematic shows, the power to the light switch comes directly to the switch from the main fuse box under the hood and bypasses the fuse box under the dash. I didnt believe it so i tested this by pulling all fuses in the box under the dash, and tested the power in wire(top center pin red/green wire) to the switch, I had 12.5 volts.

when back feeding the circuit to the corner lamp, the power out (bottom center pin red/black wire) from the switch for the parking lights is only reading 10 volts, which tells me I have a weak connection on the power out side. Tracing the power out (red/BLK) wire, with an ohm meter I had continuity down to the first plug (blue plug connector). On the opposite side of the plug I was reading 119 ohms.

Problem solved, the red/blk power out wire for the parking lights has a bad connection inside the connector. The pins were so loose on the inside, i just cut the wire on both sides of the connector temporarily wired them together and had lights. Now just for a more permanent fix, I will install a separate plug for this wire just incase it ever needs to be removed.

Nice job, I was using it synonymously with switch (since a relay is just a switch) but you're right that is is just a switch and not a triggered relay.
