Progress Competition CSII Coil Overs
Just got a set of BNIB Progress Competition CSII Coil Overs for my 93 CX in a trade. Model # 77.1004 for the 88-91 CRX/Civic. Called Progress, Michelle was very helpful. Order the front mounts that will make this set work on my 92-95 application. Does anyone have any reviews on these?
to answer my own question I dug up this post from another thread. Its the best review I could find on the Progress. Didn't find anyone bashing them so thats a good sign.
Yes, the progress coils are good for $560. They are the best budget coilover you can get, better than D2, Ksport, F2, and all the other ebay budget stuff. If you are just going to be driving on the street than most of those are fine as long as you dont mess with the preload and lower them more than they should be. AKA no preload and lower mount screwed all the way in b/c then there is no shock travel and then you blow them, which is what most people do. They are cheap for a reason, 99% of those taiwan coils have uneven dampening rates, with progress I am sure they have less than 10% difference in rebound and dampening between all the struts. If you are willing to spend some money which is sounds like you can spend about $1,000, the best set up you can buy for the price is GC/Koni with 4 extended top hats. Lifetime warrenty on all the parts and they can be had for just over $1000. Contact THmotorsport about there Koni/GC deal. Actually Import RP has the struts and coils cheaper but I havent seen any good or bad reviews for the vendor. THmotorsports its proven to get you your parts and has great customer service.

Search for progress in all forums and look for the thread about the progress promotion sale. There are some reviews and good info in there. They will last and are definitely the best budget coilover, but they still wont ride like stock. Any time you lower it you are going to sacrifice ride quality thats just the way it is. Many who said they lowered them all the way experienced a bouncy and not so good feeling ride, but they should have expected that, these are not meant to be slammed or lowered all the way down on a daily basis.
Mmm... that sounds familiar

but replace parenthesis with brackets [ ] ...
Also, the Ground Control system is just the sleeve and adjustment collar that fits over the shock perch and lets you do height adjustment. The springs for the GC system are made by Eibach, who are one of the best in the business. In your case the problems were definitely the Tockico Blues. Don't fault the GC sleeve or the springs.
edited to fix a typo, where I said Eibach made the sleeves and not the springs!

tokico blues, FTL.
why do you ppl waste money on that crap. go with illuminas for the better valving. the adjustment is just gravy.
progress is a solid coilover. theyre not a cheap chinese made brand. they do testing on their sponsored track cars and do their development in house.

i dont know or hear much about ppl using tanabe springs. they seems to put some original thought into their springs at least, using squared spring stock and dual rates when needed.
im a fan of eibach prokits for the street.
