A true "coilover" system would be sweet. What you are referring to are the "adjustable springs". Stay away from generic knock-offs as I've heard problems with the sleeves cracking. Also, Ground Control let's you specify the spring rate.

i'm all about saving a little cash but you really do get what you pay for. $20 a corner would be $80 of crap.

ya and...

And yes you do get what you pay for, the cheap coilovers can slip, crack, etc.
Stick with Skunk2 or GC, or get some real coilover suspension.

Sleeves will never be as good as full coilover setup, but if you don't want to pay $900 and up (which you obviously don't), look into Skunk2 or Ground Control. Those would be your best bet. Just remember that if you use your stock struts you will not have a smooth riding car.

get GC coils, they are very helpful when it comes to picking your spring rate and your shocks to fit what you want, but dont go over board with like 600lbs springs

GC's are one of the better ones. You can pretty much specify any spring rate you want. You'd better be running better shocks as well, if you want the dampening ability to match the spring rates. In that case, the whole assembly would cost quite a bit. Around as much as an entry level full coilover system.

Then again, if you don't really care about handling that much and just want to lower your car, anything will do.
