Default Solid

88 hf with b16 converted to obd1, i had fuel and spark but my car would'nt run, it was throwing a code 8. so we put a friends known good dizzy on and it ran, so got a new dizzy and the code went away and we have spark & fuel, but it wont fire, when u turn the key on #2 the check engine light remains on so i jump the 2 wires and i'm getting a solid cell, any reason why the check engine remains on and does it have something to do with it not starting ?

A solid cel means a bad ecu, but i believe bad wiring can also cause this.
