Default omni 70mm tb question

so i just received my omni 70mm tb. it doesnt have any holes on the inside of the tb for the tps. i ordered the one without the tps so i used my old one. theres no ports for the air to go through the tb to the tps. how is my car supposed to run or idle without it? thanks.

sounds like you have to drill them yourself for your tps to get the air it desperately needs to function

I think you are a bit confused.

The Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) does not require 'air'. The TPS is located on the opposite side from the throttle pulley.

The Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor (MAP) requires 'air' from the engine side of the throttle plate. The MAP sensor is located on the 'top' of the throttle body.

TPS:

MAP:

Throttle Body with all sensors. TPS on left, MAP on top, throttle pulley on right.

sorry for the confusion. i was under the impression that the tb with tps sensor is the same tb but with a NEW tps. since i have about 3 oem tb in my garage, i was going to reuse some of them.

ok so looking at the tb in the pic above, there are 2 holes (you can only see one) in the chamber that air goes through. on the omni one, there are no holes. it looks like there is a 1mm hole in the inside for the map sensor.

so yeah the tps does not require air but the two holes in the chamber are not there. therefore my car does not have a hole to idle. so wth, do i have to drill holes?

If you want to use a iacv then yes your gonna have to drill holes to be able to use it. The whole iacv system adds an additional level of complexity to an engine swap. Im gonna run without one and ive heard some people say your car idles fine without it as long as you adjust your throttle right for idling.

^ exactly. The larger holes on the left side are for fitv and iacv. Many aftermarket intake manifolds don't have these, so apparently the omni tb doesn't provide for them, as most people just plug them anyway.

So how does the motor get air in for idling without any holes for air to go through the throttle body?

You set up the idle using the throttle plate stop screw adjustment.

^so what happens when you turn on alot of electrical stuff at once? Sence you ditched the IACV their's no way for the motor to compensate.

Usually you set the minimum idle speed up to the fast idle speed and it won't be much of a big deal.

apparently i was sold a tb without a iacv port drilled. every aftermarket tb ive seen has a tb port including the omni one from speedfactory and even phearable told me their omni tb has a iacv port. it doesnt make sense to sell a tb without a iacv port since that means anyone who uses it has to bypass the iacv.

i looked on their product description and nowhere does it say that i will have to bypass the iacv and adjust the idle using the throttle screw. maybe they just got a batch that didnt get the iacv port drilled? either that or they just make it complicated for something that should be just bolt on and go without adjustments. i emailed and pmed the dealer (iap) and hopefully this gets resolved.

heres what im talking about. notice inside the tb there are no holes (especially for the iacv). theres even a port on the back of the tb so it just seems like they forgot tap a hole. does that seem normal for an aftermarket tb? anyways contacted the dealer and waiting for a reply. so complicated for a dang tb.
