Default HOW TO REMOVE AXLE FROM HALF SHAFT

I have a 91 hatch with b16.

How do you remove the axle from the halfshaft?? do you pry i pulled and turned it and it dont come out?

any help would be greatly appriciated

the axle is the halfshaft
but shouldnt it slide out or something?

i thought the halfshaft is the part that has 2 bolts that connects to the tranny and the axle plugs right into that..

this is the driverside..

the half shaft bolts up to the back of the block. it has 3 bolts ( if i can remember)

and its for B series motors.take it out with the axle (if you can)
and slightly tap it with a hammer.


oooooooorr. rent a tool at autozone to take it out.

Just pop it out with a flat blade screw driver.

There are little "ears" on the tranny end of the shaft. They can be tricky, but use a pry bar, or two pry bars if you can, and with solid pressure, it will pop right out. There's just a little ring clip on the shaft that holds it snug inside the trans. you'll get it.

a Pry bar works all the time for me.
As beansandrice stated a flathead screwdriver works too!(as long as its fat enough)

I noticed the new axle has a ring that holed it in, so i figured im going to have to pry it out..
