car revs from 1000-2500 rpm when in neutral and temperature-gauge donsnt work.

its a 92 eg6 vti with b20 engine and b16 hedd. also when in vtec its like the power wont come until in around 7000 rpm. vtec comes in at 5500.

 

sounds like an idle control valve going bad and with the power problem does it actualy kick in to vtec or is it running in safe mode

 

safe mode? the vtec kicks in but its like the power dosnt come until in around 7000. and the car laggs alot while driving normaly. maby fuelintjector or fuel filter?

 

theres a two wire sensor in your cylinder head below your vtec solenoid. test its resistance cold, with the plug off it and the engine completely cooled down. then fire it up and drive for about 15 minutes, come back and unplug the sensor and retest resistance. if the value hasn't changed much, you need a new temp sensor.

 

ive alredy changed the temp sensor :/
