help! (b16 turbo spark)
Kinda new guys, just hoping you guys could help me out!!!
Ok, so this is my situation;
I have a 1996 Honda Civic dx with a fully built b16 turbo! when I got the car, it came with some magnecor wires, but recently I acquired some Vision motorworks wires to replace my old wired cuz they were kinda worn out... I dont know if its my spark plugs, or my wires, but when I hit like 7k, it started sputtering today. First thing I did was check the spark plugs; sure enough the first one from left to right, the probe was melted. I changed it and it seemed to work fine now.
My main question is (I wanna upgrade wires and plugs) what spark plug wires do I get for a turbo application?
I was looking into some Nology Cool wires, and maybe some NGK cold plugs? any help or links to specific products that work good? All help appreciated! Thanks guys!

if the probe was melted its possible the wrong heat range was used or the tune is off. go with some ngk bkr7e's. around were Im at napa is the only one who carries them. don't use any other plug or let the guy who works there talk you into some irradium crap plug. only the ngk bkr7e is what I run.

yep get the bkr7e's as for plug wires I dont run anything special. just make sure they are in good condition and not some singapore crap. as for the gap .028" works good for turbo cars. also make sure the points on your dizzy cap are good, you can clean them with a sharp knife and take a little sand paper to your rotor to freshen it up.
also make sure you have quite a few good engine grounds and you shouldn't have any issues besides possibly your tune. it wouldn't be a bad idea to take it to a reputable tuner to have them check everything on your ecu to make sure your timing isn't way off or your running lean. alot cheaper to fix the problem now then to blow the motor (trust me Iv been there)

I really appreciate it!!!

iv never heard of any one running that small of a gap. I run 17lbs on my ls-t and its at .032" with no issues what so ever. its even seen 20lbs. I would do .025" at the smallest.
great help! read through some of the thread! thanks!!! my friend who had a fully built single cam had it at .28 he recommended between .26-.30 so im gonna go with .26 to start off... plenty of time for opinions! still haven't gotten my wires in, they will be shipped out from Nology tomorrow, so I still wanna get some feedback! thanks guys!
I am very happy with my MSD wiring although I liked the Sparco set I had before better, [will not fit the MSD cap] and have not been able to find a set of Sparcos that will fit the MSD cap, in fact I think Sparco no longer makes spark plug wiring.
I have a buddy that will not use anything but Magnecor R100... http://www.magnecor.com/magnecor1/main.htm
My 94LS is not a turbo, I run a 75 shot Zex system. 94

Well I already ordered the nology wires... I also have a k20z3 ep3 on 10lbs from the jrsc... I'm probably gonna adjust the gap carefully on those too being that they are iridium plugs.. I know I can do it with a feeler gauge
I heard iridium sucks for turbo... Silver is the beat conductor... Iridium just lasts longer... I only got iridium for my ep3 cuz it's necessary to use iridium on k20's apparently...I already got the ngk's recommended above and some nology cool wires are in the mail.. Let me try that out and I will update soon... Thanks again guys!
all I know is that every tuner Iv talked to around here uses ngk bkr7e's for just about every turbo car with a gap from .026-.032max. shouldn't be to complex. if your still missing at .026 gap you might need some new ignition components.
