dash lights out?!
was driving home the other night started my car and turned on the head lights. but no dash light or heater control back-light came on! radio still works and is on so i know its not a fuse. unless my fuse panel lies to me!!!
someone told me to check dimmer switch but i didnt know dimmer switch controls heater control backlight? does it?

the dimmer wheel does control all of that, and is a common part that fails. So is the left combination switch (the stalk on the left of your steering wheel for the lighting). The dimmer switch is not terribly expensive. The left combination switch, however, is about $100. between those 2 parts, i would bet money one of them is causing the issue.
My experience has been that the left combination switch fails more often than the dimmer, but that is with a sample set of 2. you may look into the manual to see how to test each piece before blowing the money on one or the other.

update it was the combo switch aka headlight switch i did the tut. that someone linked to me on here and i cleaned it now it works hurray!
