Default window regulator?

is there a good DIY for the window regulator on a 4door civic LX 1994?

I think mine has issues on the driver side

how long would it take to do?

I've done it on another car once but it wasn't a Honda

It shouldnt take more than an hour to repair the window on the tracks of replace the regulator, is it power windows? What exactly is happening to your window?

power windows, yes

I think I need to replace it. My windows goes up nearly all the way but not quite by maybe 5mm or so. I hear a clicking sound of what I guess is stripped gears

The clicking sound is more than likely the motor skipping trying to push the window up, It could be the gears are stripped. Alot of times the regulator gets bent and throws the window off track.

Take your door panel off and inspect whats going on in there. Im assuming the screws are in the same place in the 92-95 and the 96-00. After you have all the screws out pull at the bottam of the door panel and it will pop off, the top sits on a lip so just push up from the bottam.

so the window reg might be bad in that case? or would it be the gears on the motor?

it couls be either or, you really gotta take off your door panel and look at it. The regulator could be bent and the window is binding in the tracks. If you want try spraying some silicone spray on all the rubber tracks to see if that helps. But id take the door panel off and take that shiz apart.
