I bought a 2000 Si grille for 2000 Civic Coupe EX. The problem is I went to put the grille on and the shell off the EX wouldn't fit on the Si grille. So to the point do I have to purchase an Si shell for it to work and will the Si shell and grille fit on my EX bumper. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

If by shell you mean the painted part, then no the EX shell will NOT fit the Si grille. You will need to get a Si shell.

Isn't the whole thing less than $30? When I rear-ended an SUV, i got a new bumper and the grill+surround was pretty cheap. Now if you bought it from some guy that told you it was for a CTR, then maybe he might have ripped you off...

 

the ex shell fits but wont look nice...majestic honda sells the si shell for like $40 painted.

 

What if your car is clover green though?? Si's don't come in that color.

It definitely doesn't look as nice without the shell, kinda sucks.

 

No, he bought it knowing it was for a SI and thought the EX "shell" would fit. He has spent $$ on ohter things when he needs to get his car painted and all the Body work done to it. Well all the stuff he wants. He is going to run out of cash if he does not get his car up to the body shop. Spending the cash on other things too often.

 

They should sell them unpainted too.

 

Im not sure, I know Hparts does not sell unpainted ones. Also, if it is unpainted, you still have to get it painted, that just makes it cost even more....any clue how much it would be to have something like that painted?
