After getting BAR sticker, how long to smog?
So, let's say that I smogged my car 2 weeks ago and paid my registration, so the smog is good for another 2 years. Let's also say that last week, I swapped the stock D15B7 for a GSR motor. If I take it into get it BAR'd, will I also have to take it to the smog station immediately? Or do I have 2 years?
I know this isn't specifically tech, but I don't really know where else to post since we talk about of swap related stuff here.

If I remember right, when you get it bar'd, they attach the new engine to the VIN. Which means, new engine= new smog cert.
It's been 6 yrs since I lived in CA, things might have changed. But when I did mine in CA, after I got it bar'd, I had to get a new smog cert for the engine, because the old smog cert was for the old engine.
Hope that makes sense and helps.

Just came back from getting my motor BAR'd. The REF said that since I just passed SMOG 3 weeks ago, I didn't have to re-smog it again for 2 years.
