ok, on the way to go to a dealership near by my place, just to see how it goes, i revved up to 8000 rpm in 2nd than shifted to 3rd gear.... all of a sudden, the engine light comes on!!!
.. so i pulled over, turned off ignition and turn it back on... the engine light came on and went off... which is normal...
what could caused the engine light to come on?? misfiring? anybody with similar incident?
thanks in advance guys!!

shrug the mysterious CEL. If it doesnt come back after a restart dont worry to much about it. Sometimes the gas cap causes silly stuff like that to happen. At least from my experience and some others i know.

DAMN IT!!! CEL keeps coming back on!!! 10 minutes ago, i was ckecking to see if CEL light comes back on... it keeps coming back but when i turn the ignition OFF AND ON it's gone but comes back on again... it just keeps doing that...
only time when CEL light doesn't come on is when the car's idling... what could be the problem? i can't even check to see what code it's throwing since the CEL light goes off when i turn ignition OFF and ON... is there any way i can check the code while engine is running??
to PLAN B: what do u mean by i could have knocked at that RPM??
also i'm using the computer that came along with the motor... 2nd Gen. B16A...OBD I... i've done the swap a year ago... it was just fine 'til now...
thank u guys!!

Pull the stored code from the computer by using the jumper - it'll be stored no matter if it goes off and on.
My bet, throttle position sensor.
Seen this before.

you could probably rule out a whole lot of stuff if you would just check to see what code its throwing you,does that sound like a good ideal,lol.check the code,then get back to us,then we can get to the bottom of whats causing it.the ecu will store the code and it wont go away till you reset the ecu.

ok... i came up with these:
23=knock sensor
20=electrical load detector(ELD)<====== what's this??
OR
43=fuel supply system
is knock sensor something that anybody can replace? what causes this problem?
can advanced ignition timing cause the knock sensor to go bad?
sorry if this is a noobie question...
thanks...
