Noise in Left rear of car
I have a 1994 Honda EX wagon. When applying the brakes the back left rear of the car makes a weird clicking sound. I believe the sound is resonating from the left rear break. Well not the brake exactly but maybe the metal shield which covers the back of the brake. Anyway how can I get rid of this sound. My neighbor has a 99 Honda which does the same thing. It must be common. So there must be a cure. Anyone know the cure Thank you, Joelrz
If its drum breaks pull off the drum and look at the condition of the shoes. If they are good, look at the contact point between the metal part of the shoe and the shield back that it sits on and the part where they are in contact usually needs a little bit of service. try cleaning it with break cleaner and lubricate it a little bit and make sure you don't get any on the shoe surface itself. do this all around and it should be good. while you're there look around for any surface that seems to be rubbing against each other that shouldn't be.
If you have disk breaks in the back then check if the heat shield comes into contact with the rotor. if that's OK take off your caliper and inspect your pads and check your sliders as well they may be dry and seized.
