97 EK hatch, B20Z, Type R tranny
It's a non-vtec yet. I'm planning to put B20Z and Type R tranny into 97 EK hatch.
I know I still have a lot to learn. Does anybody have the same project out there? Or does anybody have a write up? Any info would be appreciated.

Its like any other B series swap.
Find yourself the b20z, Change the intake manifold incase it comes with the giraffe intake. And install the transmission.
A buddie has that setup and he loves it ( he has a lsd b16 transmission, similar ).
find an obd1 ecu, get it chipped and tuned and your golden.

I did made a decent build thread of a 96 hatch with B20Z a couple years ago....i love that swap!!!

You just can't tune the OBDII ECU's so it will likely not run your B20 correctly at all. The P75 is an integra LS so it will get you running but not be optimal.

As far as ecu's go you have a few options.....
if you want to keep running OBDII, use a real crv ecu
If jumping back to OBDI as i did, i tried two different ecu's
- 1995 intgra ls ecu 5sp P75- worked ok but didn't like to idle as smooth
- 1993 integra ls 5sp PR4- worked awesome!!!
The high compression B20Z or late model jdm still called the B20B ALL have the low style intake manifold, no need to change it!

Any header will work, If you can get a ITR replica 4-1 they seem to work good on the 2.0 litres.
Also if you alrady got a B18b OBD2a ecu , get a VAFC or SAFC , and get it tuned ( you will add a little fuel up top .) I found the integra ecu runs alean the last few hundred RPM with the b20 .
