Default Question for a B18C5 motor swap into an EK Hatch

Unfortunately,
Our car blew its B20 Vtec setup. The car has bent valves, misfiring, and we hear metallic grinding noises. Rather than bothering with the motor, we're going to a B18C5 motor swap (to be a little more reliable and also we're changing to autocrossing). My question is what is required for the full swap? Can we still use the tranny that is in the car? Would this be a good option?
I'm pretty certain that the B20 setup is no-no now. The car was super torquey, but many frown on the B20 setup saying that the setup is very unreliable. Your input would be valuable.

What tranny do you have now? The Type R is one of the best all motor gearing, and it has a factory LSD. Its not a Quafe, but its pretty good for street/ track use. THe B16 has almost the same gearing, some have an LSD (JDM ones) some dont (US Spec). It you have a GSR tranny, its a good option. Not as closely geared as the Type R or B16 (and no LSD) but its good and will fit.
If you have a B20 or LS tranny now, it will work, but not be great for auto cross. I would loose it!

too long I think you meant. Yea it'll work, but the B18c5 tranny is one of the reasons it's fast.
