i have a 91 hb with a doch zc engine.
i just blow it up i put a rod into the block
i dont know what engine to put back i dont want
a jdm motor i was told to use a 95 or earlier sohc vtec
so i need to know what would be the best thing to use
i drive it every day and race when i can
i dont have much money so i need it cheap

if finding another dohc zc is out of the question then i'd try and pick up a d16z6

 

that is what i was thinking about doing do i need to change anything to bolt it in
i have only had this car for two month so it all new to me

 

well you'll have to convert to obd1 (if you haven't already) and run a p28 ecu. which means you'll need to run the wires for vtec into the engine bay. you'll also have to move some wires around at the dizzy because on the dohc zc the cps sensor is located on the exhaust cam.

 

is it worth the time to do this the car came with the dz in it and i was not happy with and now i really dont care for it is the d16z6 my best way to go for cheap and power?

 

if both engines are in similar shape then they would perform very similarly. i believe the zc would be a hair faster though. but since you are looking for something decently quick and cheap i would probably go with the z6.

what about a b series and how much is the price compared to the d series im having a hard time finding a z6 any sites that might help me do some price looking

 

you either have to find a good deal on craigslist/hondamarketplace or you pay a good bit of money to get a nice used motor from an engine importer like hmotorsonline. sometimes it takes a little while to find a decent deal. for example, i searched around for about 2 weeks before i picked up a z6 for only $300.

i got the d16z6 and im changing the ecu from obd0 to obd1 what i need to know is can i use the intake that is the z6 or do i need to get a new intake

 

Im trying to find a wiring diagram for the distributor on a d16z6, any one where to look?
