ZC into an eg?
So what you guys think about the ZC i mean for a guy w/ sohc dohc is pretty tempting at times. what is the potential of this engine in a boosted setup (i.e. hp torque, 1/4) or an all motor setup? And are there any advantages over a boosted d16z6? thanks for your time and help its greatly appreciated!
I know this is a little late but HAPPY NEW YEAR

Re: ZC into an eg? (EGTUNER)
are you reffering to the ZC that most put in crx's and stuff? dohc 1.6 non vtec? its only rated like 300 rpms more than a z6, like 4hp more than a z6, and same trq. it is obd-0 and you would have to convert the eg from obd-1 to obd-0. probably some wiring changes. if this is the engine you are talking about. i would just stick with getting a d16z6. drop it right in like stock. use the d16z6 engine harness and ecu. run your two wires for vtec, ground the negative from the vtec oil pressure switch... much easier and way less expensive than a zc swap. and you can get a valve cover from a 92-93 and tell poeple it is stock engine.. no vtec badge on the cover...
i never had a chance to run my old hatch at the track, but with hondata, dsm 450's, and a dsm smic.... running stock d16z6 and a greddy kit tuned at 10psi. i made 200whp and 195ft-lbs of trq. dented 2" dp, 3" catback... no cat though.. screw that old zc.. save the trouble get the z6

I can understand if your car is an EF Civic or CRX...but come on!!!! That motor is nearly 15 years old. I ran a kid one time on the streets with that setup...and man was it embarrasing.....I left his *** like he was standing still. My setup at the time was a bone stock LS swap and ACT clutch. Don't waste your time because if it was up to me .... I WOULD RATHER HAVE A SOHC VTEC [ D16z6 ] motor than a ZC any day!!!!!!

Re: ZC into an eg? (EGTUNER)
yea man.... zc's are way over rated. my friend had one in a 89 Si hatch. i/h/e and i had a z6 in my 88 crx i/e . we raced and i walked off. i would definatly keep the z6 in there, just boost it.
