Default OBD 1 code 4 1993 civic dx automatic guys help!!going crazy

Ok guys i have a problem i been trying to look for 1993 civic codes and #4 code comes up as crank sensor which i dont believe is obd1 code

why

well my cluster is not working it is not showing speed (mph) and i dont know if it is really #4 speed sensor i been trying to find a book for 1993 for civic dx

If somebody knows what it is please help!!

Also my cluster dont work mph wouldnt move everything else works like temperature and gas gauge i dont have rpm gauge its an automatic ..

i dont know what to check anymore!!

code 4 is CKP, crankshaft position sensor. It is an OBD1 code. The sensor is in the distributor. Replace the distributor. If its not throwing code 17, VSS then chances are pretty good that the speedometer head in the cluster is bad.

awsome thanks.. so i have to replace the whole distributor ? or can i just buy that crank sensor ?

You have to replace the whole distributor. The sensors are easily replaceable, you just can't buy them. However, if you have another OBD1 D or B-series distributor ('92 - '95 Civic, Del Sol, or Integra) you can swap the sensors out of a different distributor and swap them into your housing. Its easier to swap all 3 sensors as a unit then to do one individually.
