spinning outta control
last week in my stock ef hatch i took a sharp left turn onto another street thought i had the turn on lockdown but then spun out of control doing a 180 in slow motion. now it needs an alignment cause it pulls to the right a lil, & the rear passenger wheel bearing is kinda worn out it jiggles when i hit a bump i know its that cause my bro in law works as a tech @ a honda dealer. could this be why i spun out this way? i got it lowered on cheap coilovers & stock struts im going to upgrade in a couple of weeks i just wanna do a swap 1st then suspension. could that be the issue or could it be old worn out bushings as well or maybe need a sway bar? ill be using this car as a canyon road racer & sometimes drag so any help on what it could be id appreciate it. i know its funny cause its all stock & me turning like if its all suspension tuned but i just wanted to take it to the limit & anded up asking for too much lol.
You got what you paid for on your suspension. Trust me, I know first hand...
Who ever put the springs/coilovers (if you can call them that) on the hatch I bought, cheaped out. Sleeve style coilovers with no brand on Stock shocks... Rides like complete crap. I shift and the car transfers weight. I hit a bump, and I become one with the roof. I hate it, but it's all I have until I can get a good set of d2's/ksports/standard coilovers on. (hopefully in time for autocross season start)
Basically, the springs aren't designed for the car. They may fit, but they sure as hell aren't properly made.
So I HIGHLY suggest you get that crap off your car if you plan to push it on corners. I've built and tuned a suspension for my xB that out handled a lot of cars on the back roads. (put my friend Ben's dc2 teg to shame) I spent about 3 days off setting preloads, dialing in dampening, and changing right height around. Not to mention balancing the weight around in the car a little.
Suspension is not something you want to go cheap on. You want your ball joints, tie rods, springs, shocks, bushings all to be in proper working order, or better.
And if you add more hp/tq on that crap suspension, you're gonna hate life more.

to that! I go even if I can't run. I take my nikon with me, and do action shots all day. But the fact of the matter is, **** suspension = **** ride = nobody wants to ride in your car = chicks don't dig you.
You're better rolling worn out stock than cheap ebay purchased suspension.
thats exactly true i get the same bouncy ricer feeling and all lol. i take turns like crazy on my 08' fit sport i take out ep3s rsx's and other cars. i got tanabe gf210s with some sway bars im about to upgade the shocks as well. u do get what you pay for tho. crxcess is right tho i should underneath the car and see whats worn out.
yup thats why ill be doing the suspension around the same time im doing the swap to get the best of both worlds. suspension is everything its true. i wouldnt wanna be bouncing around with a swapped hatch. i was thinking tokico illuminas with progress b series springs and progress rear sway bar with new ball joints. what do you guys think?

Are you dead set on springs? Or have you considered going to Tien, Stanceworks, STD, D2, KSport, H&R, Skunk2, HKS, Tanabe, Ect coilovers?
A good set of coilovers will dominate over a spring/shock combo.
My previous set ups were KYB GR2 (echo front) KYB GR2 rear (xb), Tanabe DF210 springs, Energy suspension bushing replacing EVERY bushing in the car and progress rear sway bar. Rode great, handled great, BUT vs. Energy Suspension bushings D2 Coilovers, Progress Rear sway bar, it was no contest on what was better. Tuned coilovers were so much better. The ride was a bit more harsh, BUT it was worth it.
However if you're set on springs and shocks, make sure to get the best spring rate for your application. (whatever you'll be doing the most) That's why I prefer coilovers. If I want to go backroading, I can soften the pre-load on the springs some, and get a little more weight transfer to help stick long sweeping corners and such. If I wanted to auto-x I could just tighten the pre-loads up a bit and get better quick turns. And then return the pre-loads to something a little different for daily driving.

i want it to be stiff as possible! i dont care if my passengers are uncomfortable. a shop in town will hook me up with function & form type 2s for 700 so if i have enough to get those ill jump on that deal! 1st i gotta get that alignment & bearing done. i figuered the illuminas & progress springs would be a good combo tho.

lol. ive owwned a crx with illuminas before it was a good stiff ride with a b16 & even a eg si with illuminas as well. but i got $$ its just i wanted to get some opinions but this time ill get something good then. i just wanted to put nore $$ on the swap
Koni's factory is in my home town, and there is another semi-local company that makes a pretty good coilover too. (just gotta find out who they are. Friend funs them on his EK coupe and they are nothing short of amazing.
I run HKS Hypermaxx and they perform great, i had tokico and neuspeed combo.... lets just say its 1 billion times better. You can't even compare springs to coilovers.
