it's not a question of how much boost but instead how much hp. boost psi varies depending on the size and volumetric efficiency of a given turbo. for example 8psi on a t3/t4 is not the same as 8psi on a gt42r. that being said, if i wanted to be on the safe side i wouldn't go much over 200hp on stock rods.

OP you need to spend some time in the forced induction forum before you start swiping your card buying anything.

Since you seem to be understanding and willing to learn i will help you instead of leaving you to fend for yourself like some others that immediately get pissed off.

On a stock D series you should shoot for between 200-215whp, i wouldn't go any farther.

For a turbo what seems to be a perfect fit for a stock D is a t25 OR a 14b turbo from a mitsubishi eclipse. Internally or externally wastegated is fine, but 14b's come internally gated and are easier to work with. t25's may or may not be in some cases. Either of these turbos will get you that power goal with about 10 psi of boost.

For fuel system you should get some 450cc injectors and a resistor box. Also a walboro 255lph fuel pump will do the trick.

For tuning get an OBD1 p28 ECU (if you have a 92-95 civic EX/Si you already have one) and have it chipped with a program your tuner is competent with. It may be Crome, Hondata, etc..

Everything else as far as BOV, FMIC, IC piping is pretty much up to you. i do recommend a ram horn manifold but that is up to you as well.

Don't cheap out on it, for every few hundred you save expect a few more problems with things not fitting, breaking etc..

Doubt that would last long at all. Like everyone else said, I've always heard and read that 220whp is about the very max you want to go on a stock d16. Keep it around 200whp and you should be safe with a good tune.

to the OP pay attention............GOOD TUNE is very important. you really dont want to finish this project and have it blow up because you didnt get a good tune. IMO street tune is not good enough, should be done on a dyno under controlled conditions.

very true!!! if this is gonna be more then a track car take it and have it tuned on like hondata or even chrome. the boost question has pretty much been answered but heres my .2 cents. i had my d16z6 on 12lbs from a hybrid t3t4. it was stock but was block guarded. ran it hard for about a year on a s300 hondata tune and put out 289whp at 7600 rpms. never blew the motor i did blow a head gasket twice tho. all the luck to you in your build!
