Ok so i was on my way home from work today and jumped on the freeway like i always do, so im driving normal shifting normal when out of nowhere this dumbass guy cuts me off so i sorta slammed on my breaks, i didnt slam on the to the point where i would screech to a stop i just did a quick reaction anyway since that moment i started getting this smell of something might be burning, i kinda panicked and thought it was my clutch or break pads which i just changed about 2 months ago?? I have no idea . . . . any ideas what it could be??

Plastic bag burning melted on your exhaust pipe?

I did this and took almost 2 months to get rid of the smell.

^^ lol that happened to me going through a mcdonalds drivethrough, it was a huge bag too. I figured a few miles and it would melt off, nope I had to take my exhaust off and scrape it off with a paint scraper. I let it cook for like 2 months though haha

hm..., so the odor's still there? On my old civic and the stock tire it came with on stock steelies was somewhat of a crap and tow wks after I bought it new, I was on freeway, did a horrible streeching stop(idiot cut me in...) and the rubber burning smell last for about a week or so?!?! Also, the car started to rattle/vibrate while on speed over 45mph. Took it to the dealer and found out that the breaking was so severe that the spots of the front tires were worn off(kindda like a eraser rub off) and the particles of the rubber were shot up and stuck under the car?!?! Anyway, the dealer gave me new pair of front tires, same exact ones, lol..., and gave me a detail job under the car. wah la, the problem solved. Week later, went and bought set of 16" with better rubbers. wtf??? that's my 2 cents.
