Default new catback fume

I installed a complete catback exhaust today, took a long time, but was a lot of fun and turned out good. Only thing is, after driving when i get out of the car i notice a strong fume....i smelled the tip, and it didnt seem to be coming through there... Any ideas? or is this normal?

ya, whenever I install a new exhaust there is always a weird smell that comes from it. Happened to me twice, on both my apex n1's so It must be normal. Anyways, it goes away in a couple of days usually.

it's the exhaust "burning out" for the first time. mine smoked when it was new, but it goes away once the exhaust gases have coated the inside surface. i didn't notice any smell or smoke after roughly an hour driving.

If you put your fingers and hands all over over it when you put it on the grease and oils from your hands will burn off. Does that every time I touch my header with dirty gloves. And like everyone else says, cuz it's new. No biggie.
