hey guys can you guys help me out here? im having trouble figuring out whats wrong cause i bought my ej1 from a guy that did a b16a2 swap in it and the check engine light was on ever since and i asked him... he said that he never installed the vtech in but... i dont get it cause everything is plugged in and the light i still on...and i did the engine check reading thing where i put a paper clip in the check engine light plug but the light doesnt flash... it just stays on. so i was just wondering can you guys give me some tips thanks much... every suggestions help! ones a again thank for helping me out.

 

Check which ECU you have.

its skunk 2 chipped... and o yeah my vtech isnt kicking in..

 

do you have a spare ECU you can try? If not try here:

Typically if you dont get the light to flash there is an issue with the ECU. If you can get another ECU to test in your car I would suggest that. The VTEC will not work if the check light is on most of the time as well.
