Icon6 D16a6 eating oil?

I recently swapped my ED's engine for another D16A6, because I am in process of building my engine for higher boost.

This "temporary" engine sat for a whole year unused. It has only 90k miles and it seemed in a good shape, no oil leakage etc.

I then also turboed it but from the beginning it felt a little underpowered with the same boost&settings than the other one.
The oil temperature is higher than normal and it consumes a lot of oil. Now it is even leaking It is mainly leaking from the distributor side of the engine onto the tranny I replaced the distributor 's O-ring but it is not him leaking.
I also noticed that the #2 cylinder has some oil in it->the spark plug was oily.
The coolant level stays the same. No problems with it.

Maybe cracked head? headgasket?

Otherwise the engine starts at the first try, idles nice and no weired noises are coming from it.

Was the cylinder side oily, or the top side of the spark plug? It's fairly common for the valve covers' O rings to let oil into the spark plug holes.

Does the engine smoke?

You can't trace the source of the oil leak? there's only so many thing the oil could be leaking out of on the transmission side.

My valve cover's gaskets are new. It's not them I double checked. No oil on the outside of the spark plug.

Engine doesn't smoke, it's just somehow underpowered?

I really don't see from where the oil could be leaking on the transmission. Only from the distributor? but it's not that

Maybe it's your valve cover or oil drain plug

I have a d16a6 with a similar issue it consumes a lot of oil if you take it over 4,000 rpm no oil in coolant, no external leaks, the compression check is perfect and same for leak down but it smokes and blows oil out the exhaust badly the only thing my buddy and i can think of is that valve stem seals are leaking which is pretty common for these engines i have a rebuilt cylinder head but no time to put it on because we are in the middle of a blizzard in MD

i'd do a comp. test and cyl leakdown test. when my a6 started burnin a bunch of oil i did a compression test and found only 60psi on cyl 2

Wash the engine and check for the leak as it builds up. Leakdown test it as well to gauge the health of the engine

compression checking and leakdown test will do nothing if the compression rings are good the oil control ring has nothing to do with compression. Doe's it smoke on start up if so what color. Does it smoke then you get back in to the throttle after engine braking?

I suggested it so he could see what kind of shape the engine is in. it wont hurt. could be the valve seals if it smokes when you first start it up.

I did the compression test today and...

The compression is 175psi (+-5psi) in all cylinders, which is good for a d16a6.
My catchcan also doesn't get any oil, it is only oily. So there is minimal blow-by.

What can it be now?

Can valve steam seals cause to burn that much oil and be a little low on power?
This engine has higher than usual oil temperature. Don't know why.

I noticed something.

If I let the car idle for a couple of minutes, then when I start driving I can see blue smoke. I eventually stops. It happens only if I let it idle for a longer period.
Under acceleration there is no smoke coming.
Valve seals or rings?
