i talked to someone a while back who has my badge number. you asked for my vin so you could prove that i owned the car. i got lazy and never gave it to you. i got it written down now, so if you could get back to me, that would be great. i would love to get my original badge back. thanks.

Hey there. Yep, I still have 98-0184's badge. Someone on ITRCA PMed me about heR being their old R. They were from MD though and their name differs from your name in your myspace profile (I snooped your profile here ). Either way, the VIN will confirm the badge #. We now have a contact in Acura who can do this for the '97s and most of the '98s.
I absolutely want to return this badge to the rightful owner

 

If only more people could get their badge back. This thread makes the ITR gods happy

Well, we just found out. OP's caR is 98-0408.

#184 was stolen and stripped ~2001 out of Maryland. Original owner did not have full coverage at the time. I've been trying to meet up with him sometime when I'm in MD and return his badge.

That's a big discrepency between the numbers 184 and 408. How did the op come to think he had 184? Doespike I truly hope someday you'll be able to find #779 for me.
I would buy it and restore it even if it was a charred shell.

 

For the time being, just order a blank from Acura. They're pretty reasonable. Just take it to a jewelry store or tropy shop and have them engrave it for you.
