im not so sure you should be running 12-14 psi if you dont know what kind of gearing you want

anyhow try out the stock 4.4. if no traction problems you could try to bump it up to 4.7.

my hunch is you will have traction problems even at 4.4

Well does anyone know what gearing might be good...I wasn't asking anyones opinion on my boost level.

Im not some idiot that just bought a turbo kit and slapped it on. I've been working on and racing hondas for years.

Im not a 16 year old punk that has a hb with a filter and altezza tail lights...I just would like to only have to open the tranny once and was wondering what people have been successful with.

If asking what peoples previous experiences were with there cars makes me unexperienced then so be it. But I will continue to learn as much about hondas as I can, mostly through first hand experience and a little from the help of others...

thats what these forums are for, right???

My suggestion to you is to sell your itr trans, and get a gsr trans with a quaife lsd.

thanks for the idea...i guess i better clarify what i have....i have the type R trans but i am about to buy an LS trans also. I was probably going to do LS 1-4, then type R 5th with the LSD.

has anyone ran this setup?

was it good? any problems?

LS gears are too tall. I like the gsr gearing for street use as its not too tall
and not too short. the ls i would only use for drag racing, and even that is
a maybe at best.

and why would you do ls 1-4 and itr 5th?

Well, its my friends car and tranny and I am helping him out. These are details he was telling me. I've never worked on trannys gears so I wasn't sure which way would be best. Do you think he should just stick with the type r tranny or just the LS.

From another forum i was told we would have to use the type r end gears and FD in order to get the LSD to fit.

thanks for the help

Really??? its not too short of gears?

I know when I had FI on my GSR and i put the type r tranny on it made me lose time in the 1/4. the gears were so short.

what do you think?

like i said, gsr trans is a little better imo than itr for turbo when boosting
over 14psi. but anything under that and the itr trans is generally a better choice.
ls is WAY to long if you ask me.
