Free 15" woofer!
I'm new to the whole audio thing
. My friend just gave me his 15" Realistic sub from radio shack because he said it was
. I'm not planning on adding a major system in my car untill i finish my engine mods, so I don't want to spend more than $150. I'm planning on running a Fosgate C1/2 channel Amp for $29 (send it to the sub), Infinity 6.5 2-ways with 160 wats peak power for $24, and Pioneer 6X9 320 wat pair for $23. Is it worth the money, and how much of a noticable improvement will it have over my '95 Accord Lx stock speakers with after market head unit?

Trip : first, peak power don't mean anything in this world, its all about RMS or continous power. So when you see a sony amp claiming 1000w Max, just look the other way
that sub may not be very nice, but it'll definetly give you some midbass, and possibly some good sub frequency off that amp
any speakers you put in over the stock paper ones will sound better.
And the biggest reason to install those parts? Cause you will have a KICK *** time, do the install with a friend on the weekend, have a blast, and begin to start figuring out what kind of sounds/speakers you like and dislike, how you like your subs to be (sealed, ported or bandpass) etc. etc, learning by trial and error on cheap costs like this is great!
Good luck, we are all here to help with the install
