Default new bushings

My upper control arm bushings squeak like crazy and my upper ball joint is torn up. I was planning on getting the ebay parts as well but not anymore.

Where can I get good replacement bushings and upper.Ball joint?

And as far as installation goes, do the bushings and ball joint have to pressed out and in?

OEM bushings are high quality and easy to buy individually. You can also buy Hardrace bushings individually or in small sets (can't remember exactly). These are hard rubber bushings that are supposedly as reliable as OEM but slightly firmer. If you want to get a full 26 pc. bushing kit, PIC & Suja teamed up to make a set of bushings they call SONEM bushings that are intermediate between OEM and Hardrace in firmness. Polyurethane is an option, too, but those don't last.

IDK about the ball joint, but here's a DIY:

The bushings have to be pressed in/out with at least a 12 ton press, and that would probably help with the ball joint as well.

SONEM/PIC or Hardrace for the bushings. They're hard rubber so an improvement over OE for performance and will last way longer than polyurethane. No deformation and no squeaking for hard rubber!

I would take the time to replace the LCA bushings as well...I don't know which car you are driving, but when I replaced the LCA bushings on my 99 Si with Mugen hard rubber the difference was very noticable! I can also report that the hard rubber bushings from Mugen lost none of the control an experimental set of poly bushings gave, but were much, much more comfortable. Against a set of hard rubber bushings, the LCA bushings - for 99 Si type short and long arm set ups - proved to be by far the most beneficial. I would leave the rear toe control links and the trailing arm - big - bushing alone...keep stock bushing material. FWIW

When my UCA bushings and ball joint were shot, I just replaced the whole arm with new OEM for about $95/side (both sides replaced). Minimal downtime, didn't have to take my parts anywhere to get new ball joints installed, bushings pressed in, etc. When you think about the time, gas money, labor costs, etc. IMHO $95/side is a pretty good price. And it's OEM quality.

I had eBay replacement upper arms for about $70 for the PAIR and they were trashed in about a year.
