I recently sold my '93 civic hatch to a friend of mine. The car had a fairly high mileage B18B1 swap in it that I installed after removing my K series swap and selling it seperate (yes I welded the mount and floor piece back in among other things). The car was fine for about 5 months, then the clutch acted like it was slipping (according to the new owner). It gradually got worse until he said it could no longer be driven. At that point I installed a new clutch, pressure plate and lightweight flywheel (it is what he wanted) and the car seemed good for about 3 days. Later that week the car was acting strange again as it would go into gear, and when you applied the gas it would act like the clutch was slipping, and then it would eventually grab with no loud noise or anything and start to go. I thought it was a hydraulic issue, so I replaced the clutch master cylinder for him and a used clutch slave cylinder for him. A couple of days later back to the same thing. The problem seems intermittent, and that has me baffled. Could this actually be a transmission issue, and not a clutch or hydraulic piece issue, and if so, what could it be? Thank you for any help you could give me at this time.

 

If the trans itself is slipping, its broken and you would know. What clutch/pp/flywheel is in it? Did he break it in or slam gears right away?

 

That's what I was saying...it is some Ebay clutch and I think a fidanza flywheel, but I can't remember. Would it be possible that the clutch fork could be bent or maybe somethin else?
