So I go and look @ a crx Jan 17th (not advertised,word of mouth from one of my Broz co-worker's friend) Expecteing the worst,I drive over to the man's house to find a pretty decent 91 Si (all there,mostly unmolested except for a few mods like Tokico Illuminas already installed,some semi-cheesy leatherette covering cargo/divider,etc) Cool,suspension bonus if I buy I'm thinking ...
The seller said d16a6 threw timing belt,then parked it in back yard for last year or more.He then tells me that it comes with another engine,and it's in a cabinet.I walk over to it w him,opens the door to show me and I see some B series minus head.(i'm thinking crv b20,or b18-see where this is going?) We spin it around so I can read block stamp and:

So,JDM B16A that has head pulled by guy he got from and never got re-assembled (someone started trying to port on one or 2 exh ports,no damage yet ha ha) All parts were bagged + tagged,thanks whomever did this for me!

Thanks! My 1st B-series (love boozting lil D'z,but since came w everything except mounts-hey I can haz a B nowz too,lol.) Planning to re-assemble b16a pretty much stock for now-maybe some camz + gearz,boost her laters (one of my spare d16a6 heads will get her oem d16a6 up + running for temp)
I picked up the swap + spare parts 1st and got them to my house Forest Gump style...

 

Sat 020610,put wheelz she came with on + washed her and got B16A on new stand in shop-took a few pix:

Nah,it was Flint Back Metallic originally-prolly end up back to orig color someday,dunno...

Spent a lil time cleaning her up today,bought some lil stuff she needed like wiper blades,etc... (in the meantime)

She livez! (oem D anyways) Pulled a6 head (had broken cam @ gear,wtf?) so z6 mini me'd her for now since I keep a few d vtec heads + blockz.Had to replace "gummed/rusted up from sitting for 2 yrz" fuel pump/filters + soak injz to get her cranked.Drove her for about 1 mile total til tagged in the am,not bad but still have to change out ecu to chipped ps9 in the am for some mad vtak ha ha. Need to drop her some via spare set of GC's eventually,PiX soon.

It'll do til B16 complete (and couple more items bought) And I need a sunroof panel + glovebox (kicking myself for getting rid of both last nov,but didn't have this si yet,how it goez...) Bought radio console on fleabay since some1 cut orig out for something,came w an oldschool kenwood excelon,and Arospeed exhaust catback (hmm,something I can install new Blox cat delete on finally I've had forever from some trade) Mo laterz...

Thx,stoked! Cluster is from a UKDM B16A Crx (VTi?,for it's cable vss),LHD (US legal) rear fog garnish is EDM,B16A is JDM from Crx SiR model w LSD Y1,gonna be a mutt "SiR". (close enuff for me...)

Lookin good, whats up with the hood looks half black and half purple. Yeah I would do a jig if someone what like yeah this engine goes with the car.

 

Thx-yeah,the hood wasn't prepped right when replaced? so paint flaking off (like my 88'z previous owner'z entire "facto bakeish paintjob" did/still doing) looking for CF hood maybe,or just paint it blk for nowz...) Seller told me about "extra" swap that it came w on phone before I saw,but he wasn't sure if the guy he got it from was telling truth about b16a coming from wrecked sir from JP in a container box. (I refrained from confirming this "tall tell" until I paid for her/swap,and had swap @ house 1st! Owe all this to my bro who had a co-worker mention a "crv" to him,Thx Mang!

 

Small update,been driving her and loving it! (ridez like a new car damn near,fighting urge to drop her any more via spare GCz I have) Still collecting rest of b swap needz,installed alarm,blah blah blah. Mo laterz - Oh,and bought a purple zex 10lb bottle for her...
