oem honda head gasket? or aftermarket(cometic, etc.)?
i'm boosting a b20 on somewhere between 17-20lbs, with power goals of between 400-500hp.
i'm wondering if oem honda headgasket would be safe to run? or if i should order an aftermarket one such as a cometic?

aftermarket one would probably be a safer route since the honda one is only meant for a stock set up plus if you get it from a dealer it will still probably cost the same if not more as the aftermarket one
My personal experience comes from having a b16 overheat twice due to coolant hoses exploding. OEM never failed, while a friend has had 2 cometics die from mild overheats when their hoses blew. I only know 1 person who gets hardons from cometic, but he also swears a knock sensor can kill cat converters...

I believe golden eagle takes oem gaskets and bores them out to the size u need!
Utilizes Factory OEM gaskets for optimal performance
-Machined to fit almost ANY bore size imaginable
-Used on top winning race cars the world over from Circle Track to Import Drag Racing
-Dowel holes are opened on Honda/Acura B-series gaskets to accept ANY head/block combo

from what i've heard in general, and from people that were giving me their opinions oem is the best way to go for some situations. i mean atleast with honda, reflecting back when i was looking to order bearings it was between acl and oem an i went with oem to save money an i was told by so many to use oem
but i dont really agree that its not a big deal i mean as far as i'm concerned a good headgasket is a big deal, but i mean thats just MHO
Sry if I wasn't clear, you're right a good head gasket is very important. I didnt mean go cheap. I just meant get the cheapest good quality product you can find. I would buy a $75 OEM over a $100 Cometic. Both are good, I would buy on price.
