Default Shifter moves as it engages in gear

okay i know it sounds dumb and of course the shifter moves when its in gear and the gas pedal is pressed, but the thing is, mine move drastically. like enough for the shifter to hit the console. eeeek!!!!!!!!!. i also notice a bit of loss in power as well.

has anyone ever had this problem? i installed a short shifter about a month and half ago. this problem just started today.

Also noticed a bit of oil leaking somewhere underneath my tranny casing. =( .
Could my tranny be done ?

if its moving that much you should check the shifter itself and also your rear tranny mount. the oil leak could be coming from numerous places. you'll really have to get under there and look hard to figure out where the leak is originating from.
