Default SST27SF512-70-3C-PGE showing as obsolete as do several other chips...what now?

Made my last large batch order in May, now I go to reorder and find that all sst part numbers I was using are now showing obsolete. I've done some searching but have come up with nothing. Even doing searches based on chip function has only found options that aren't 28 pin.

Anyone have a new chip number that works?

These chips are no longer being made.
You will have to purchase them from a vendor that has stock of the item left.

We have PLENTY in stock due to the part being discontinued.

That chip has been obsolete for quite sometime...there appears to be plenty of vendors that have that chip in stock..

We bought the last run. If you need these, as stated above, give us or another vendor a call. I am sure prices will go up on these in another year, so stock up while you can.

FYI, I tried some of the ebay chips before getting the real SST chips, and they would not read, write, or blank check on a Burn1. Glad I only bought a sleeve of 10.

Well, what's the long term solution going to be when vendors don't have any left?

Who has 10 they can ship immediately? I'm behind and need a few ASAFP.

Forgot to mention the long term solution is the "Demon" from Moates. Basically, the tuner either sorces the chips, or every tune requires a Demon from here forward to tune the car. This or we result to aftermarket EMS's, which I dont want to do becuase of the potential and simplicity of the OEM hardware.

Accctually, there's a replacement solution that's been in the works. You thought nobody would consider these things would run out some day?

Focus on the remaining chips in the meantime. Don't worry about the future, you'll have resources to continue offering chip based solutions. And the Demon is always a great solution as well.

Oh, and along with these other vendors, Moates.net has a very large quantity of these SSTs in stock with price breaks for large quantities. We won't be running out as soon as you all think.

My receipt is at home, i can post up later tho. remember the old check list that was on the pgmfi index? A few orders ago i gave them that part number and they directed me to a tech and the tech gave me a new part number. the chips i got are the exact same. I did write down the new partnumber but its at home with the other order sheets.
if you called them with the old part number off the pgmfi page they would send you to a tech and he can give you the new number, or just wait till i get home and am able to post.

No rush, I've got enough for now, just figured it would be nice to post up for others to see. I was able to find a Winbound 28pin EPROM, part number W27C512-45Z-ND. It looks identical and from what I started to read the specs are similar.

that’s a digikey part number awesome!
Hey nice web too, I just saw that for the first time, pretty neat mang. when are you gonna have more pictures? I didnt see any of it installed. the lights.

I use to use a M27C512-12BI chip, its an eprom so that sucks but they are only like 5 cents ech, had to use a universal programmer for them but at that price it was nice. but eeproms are mandatory now days.

well I guess I’m a complete idiot. I’m sure I ordered some not too long ago from digikey, as it figures, I can find all the order receipts except one with eeproms on it.. I found one of the checklists and it didn’t have my hand writing on it with the new partnumber, nor the old number. all it had was the mouser number. looked all over for the one I had notes written on and cant find it. I called up a friend at digikey, talked for some time. he was unable to even find the old partnumber and you are correct, there is not a new part number nor any available. sorry for my confusions, I’m still confused. I’m sure I ordered some, positive!!!
I did however find 23 of them at this number... 1800-445-4720 and 6,000 of them at this number.. 1800-408-8353. I don’t have the PN's but if you just ask for the SST brand eeprom in a 512 or a 256 if you want it, they will know what’s up. Again, sorry for the confusion. If I find my old notes, you can be sure ill update
