Well the B20 isn't the best choice of all the B series to turbo, but my advice would be to not push it to crazy power. The B20 sleeves have been known to crack prematurely (although some people swear by them). With a quality setup and good tune, you should be able to reliably make 275-300whp with no trouble. Steer clear of eBay parts and half-assed solutions...that's where the problems lie. Check out the Forced Induction forum and FAQ for more advice/answers...
see and i was thinkin of just buyin a kit off ebay just cause there cheap and it my first tim boostin but alot of people were tellin me that if u gunna do spend the money and do it right!!!
The Ebay route sounds cheap in the shortrun, but ends up costing more in the long term...especially if you factor in lost time. Chances are, the Ebay setup will last through a dyno run and maybe even for a little while (a few months) then parts will show excessive wear and start to fail one by one. Now, you have to decide if you want to replace them with another Ebay part or change to something more durable...in the latter option, you have to then replace even more stuff. Once the turbo goes, you'll have to buy a reliable unit...you can see how this pattern continues. Basically, you'll spend the money on the Ebay kit, then after replacing it with good parts, you'll have spent even more. Do it right the first time or dont do it at all...
yea that true bout almost every thing do it right or dont do it at all.. lol so now that im not gunna go the ebay way i was think turbonetics or greddy not sure yet though! and wouild it be better to build the block cause imma go non v tec!!

I'll chime in here, i got a b20b(turbo) and it's ALMOST ready for tuning
my .02 is simple,
-get good parts, i.e. full-race/peakboost/spoolin, etc..
-get headstuds
-get good engine management, i.e. hondata, neptune, etc
-get a good tune
-spool away!!
if you haven't decided on a kit yet, or you wanna piece one together
i would check the above companies mentioned, or try www.turbokits.com to see what would be best for what you wanna do, good luck!
and b20-t,FTW!!

i wouldnt go ebay, the only thing i still use from the ebay kit i bought is the piping if that tells you anything, better to do it right the first time as ive experienced.
Good question, loooong *** answer, so i'll give you the short version:
I think it's a good idea because of:
1-cost 800$ for a Whole motor? heell yes
2-low compression=works with boost outta the box!
3-torque..inna honda!
4-compatibility..bolts up to an ls based car..easy!
So, IMO what's not to love??
-here comes the debate
cyl walls??
You can blow up ANYTHING with enough force, but a good starting point is-
-use quality products
-get a good tune
-use headstuds
-don't go crazy on boost
There are PLENTY of examples(enough to convince me,anyways) of boosted
b20's, just do a search and g/l!!
