Default B18C build questions

Right now I am leaning towards building a "poorman's ITR" for my EK. I am looking at using a B18C block/crank with a B16A/B18C5 head, B16B pistons and LS rods. The compression would be just below 11.5:1. Forgot to mention I am going NA on this build.

My area of concern is the rods. Does any have objections to the rods and if so why?

Scott

OP, you can not use ls rods and gsr crank. CTR pistons will yield much higher CR than 11.5:1 with a gsr or ls crank.

Ah okay. Thank you for the insight regarding that. What would you recommend, B16A2 with B16B or B18C with USDM ITR pistons?

Well the site I checked regarding compression ratios the P30 and the P73-00 there is not much difference of .05 between the two. So I think I am going to run the P73-00 in this build.

Now what about the head? I am going to be running a B16 head. Would the stock dual ITR valve springs be good enough for 8000 rpm or would you recommend something else do to the added comfort? What are good cams? I am thinking Toda, Bloc or OEM CTR/ITR.

Do you have dyno sheets for this setup?
