I tried a bolt on its own but it was leaking so im going to try a bolt with plumbing tape and hope it holds out.

Ive ordered an Ebay radiator once before and it had a plug in it. The plug is made of plastic which it why it seals and your bolt doesn't. When you put the thread tape on it you should be good to go.
i went crazy looking for that plug..i got the 3 core one..it use same pitch as ur wheels studs,i bought a wheel stud from autozone for honda and put teflon tape and no leaks..thats the easy way till u find the right bolt with same thread..
