Icon6 gears a little harder to get into 1998 gs-r

Hi,

1998 gsr
219k miles
tranny oil changed 50k miles ago (used Honda MTF)

Problem: the gears are a little stiffer to get into all of a sudden. It was fine just yesterday, but today I noticed the gears are little harder to get into. There are no grinds but just a little tighter and not as smooth to get into (all gears). What can be wrong?

you might want to change your trans fluid. I cant remember the interval off hand i was doing them every 25k or so .

check the areas around your shift linkage as well.

I think the tranny fluid exchange is every 30k.

Check your clutch master cylinder/slave cylinder and make sure the clutch is releasing all the way. Could also be your clutch on its way out. Is it only while driving or if the car is stopped and off does it have the same issue?

The clutch is not slipping though. It feels the same stopped or driving.

I'll check the shift linkage area 2

check the shifter bushings. Did you use enough MTF?

The major problem with clutches are the springs that hold the inner and outter hub together...however not your problem being that it does it stopped or driving. Probably a linkage or shift fork (internal) problem.

95 integra: actually it's just while driving and i noticed today that while at higher RPMs' the harder it is to get into gear. Today i checked the tranny fluid and it's still clean and full. I remember the other day while driving home, there was a violent jerking around my shifter like something came apart inside. I don't think I ran into rocks cus i was driving in the freeway. hmphh... any suggestions?

the guy that took at look at my tranny fluid said it might be my clutch... my clutch is the original clutch (almost 220k miles). hmphh

I have the same problem i changed my trans fluid and still the same so i changed the shift linkage still the same, mines grinds when i try to put it in fifth gear and its hard to put it in gear on high rpm also my shifter moves left to right even when its in gear just as if its in nuetral, any idea what the problem could be? is it a cluch or transmission problem? hopefully someone could help us out here thanks guys God Bless

Try shifting into gear while the car is parked and the clutch is depressed. Is it more difficult with the engine running?

I would say its your clutch, Especially if it "all of a sudden" started getting hard to shift, especially at higher RPM's. Generally you get instant grinding with worn syncros, if its just hard to shift your synchros are probably fine...

Does your clutch pedal feel strange? I would first bleed and fill your clutch mc then adjust the clutch pedal further up so you can push it in further, maybe you can get the extra bit of squeeze you need to disengage the clutch, if that is indeed the problem. If that still doesn't work I'm still saying there's something wrong with your pressure plate, but I would have someone else check it out in person who really knows what they're talking about before jumping to conclusions.

It's just strange that it would happen all of a sudden... I would check your trans fluid levels as well, maybe the drain plug fell out or came extremely loose, there are quite a few possibilities here and all things must be considered despite how crazy they must sound, because sometimes it will save you from spending a lot and still not fixing the problem. Check simple things first and check them quickly

The clutch pedal lost pressure while I was driving but after now it feels fine. So it did lose pressure while i was driving and now I notice at standstill and in first gear, when i try to accelerate, the car sputters at low rpms (clutch still depressed about to let it all the way out). After I'm able to let the clutch pedal all the way out, it drives fine (but still gears are harder to get into). Can it be the clutch? I already ordered a clutch set.
