any body attended wyotech or uti ?
I have a few friends that have attended both and have used what they learned and persued careers in their fields. Some have told me that they didn't learn anything that they didn't already know. All they got out if it was a piece of paper saying they know how to do what they claim which is really the important part.
garbage. yea you might learn stuff but your going to pay up the *** for it.
just go to a local tech school you'll learn the same and pay 8k for all of it. same piece of paper less BS.
or if you already work in the field just get ASE certified.

Well, I went to NTI. It's basically the same thing as UTI. My first 3 weeks of school was pretty decent. However after 3 weeks, I dropped out and found out that it wasn't worth my damn time or money because they rush or go over the material too damn fast. It's not worth the money ($30,000+) for a year and a half of school. It's just full of crap and I prefer anyone if they want to go, go to a Community College instead. You get a Associate's Degree compared to a Certificate.
I went to uti and it is too crammed together at times. If you really pay attention they'll teach you a lot, but it would be a lot harder if you didn't have a solid knowledge of cars already.
A lot of community colleges have good tech programs and stuff and it's cheaper, it's a degree of sorts, and you can use the credit to go to a four year college later if you ever want to.
I never heard of programs offering a 4-year college for auto mechanics??? Or do you mean by changing your major later as attending in a 4-year college???

Wow i feel sorry for you guys in the states. Up here in Canada for our 3 year Automotive Service Technician Program the government subsidizes most of the school fee. Where i went to school i ended up paying about $450 per year. But the even better thing is the Apprenticeship Incentive Grant, which gives you $1000 when 1st and 2nd year are completed. Then the even better better thing is the Apprenticeship Completion Grant, which is $2000 when you pass the Certificate of Qualification Exam. So the government is paying us to go to school.
